Keeping Balanced Through the Pandemic

 

Activities to Connect

​

Here are some suggested activities to help you connect with others in this time of physical distancing.

​

  • Go for a walk, but maintain at least six feet of space between yourself and other people.

​​

  • Arrange a time to connect with family and friends through a phone call or video chat.

​​

  • Join People On the Go’s member-wide Zoom calls every other Friday afternoon. Members discuss different topics each week, and we welcome many guest speakers. If you are interested, email Tami Goldsmith to join our next call!

Solo Activities

​

Below are some ideas for activities that you can do at home to keep busy.

​

  • Start a journal

​

  • Complete a puzzle

​

  • Call a family member or friend

​

  • Make a list of things you are grateful for.

​

  • Create thank you notes and give them to our frontline workers, such as grocery store employees, mail deliverers, and healthcare workers

​​

  • Engage in outdoor activities like walking, watching the sunrise, or reading a book

​

Strategies for Your Day

​

Try using these strategies to help make your day more purposeful and planned

​

  • Keep up your physical and mental health care habits. Drink lots of water, get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and take time to relax and do what you love

​

  • Create a to-do list. Write down the activities you want to complete each day

​

  • Maintain a schedule, or follow a routine every day

​

  • Set one goal each morning when you wake up

​

  • Create a designated workspace in your place of living
